Memorial Day Weekend on Weiss Lake

Spend Memorial Day relaxing on Weiss Lake in Northeast Alabama. We are located in the Centre of the ABC Triangle (Atlanta, Birmingham, Chattanooga) Less than a two hour drive.

Fishing and boating are welcomed. Enjoy the beautiful sunrises and sunsets on the water.

Take a break from cooking ... eat well at several local restaurants. Visit our web site at www.cherokee-chamber.org for a listing of Chamber Member Restaurants found in our Directory. Come as you are.

Rock climbing at Cherokee Rock Village

One of the best kept secrets has been rock climbing at Cherokee Rock Village in the Sand Rock/Leesburg area. Atop Lookout Mountain, overlooking Weiss Lake. 200 ft boulders of limestone and quartz. Breathtaking views. Many walking and hiking trails. Primitive camping available.

Native Americans lived in the area from 8000BC to the Cherokee Indian Removal in 1838.

Some improvements are taking place at CRV. Please be patient with the upgrades. We think you will like them. A project by the Cherokee County Park and Recreation Board and Cherokee County Commission.

Located off Highway 68. Turn onto County Road 36 (Valley Street). Go 1.5 miles to County Road 70, turn left. Keep bearing right as you travel up the ridge. Go approximately 3 1/2 miles to the park.

Enjoy yourself!!!
